A new safety programme gets kids on track with safety.

The UK’s railways are one of the safest and most used railway networks in the world. However, incidents by children still occur, which is one reason safety on the railway is the railway industry’s top priority.

What is Switched On?

Switched On is a brand-new free education programme developed by the railway to encourage 3–16-year-olds to get on board with railway safety.

Through a range of age-targeted films, interactive games, and classroom activities, Switched On teaches young people to be aware of risky behaviour and develop hazard-spotting skills.

Throughout the fun interactive resources, the programme will help children develop a range of skills on topics including, the importance of staying with an adult, behaving safely, decision making, and the impact of peer pressure.
