Celebrating Inclusivity at Birmingham Pride

Birmingham Pride weekend brings everyone together to celebrate LGBTQ+ achievement, life and love. A ‘safe space’ where the community can be who they want to be without fear or prejudice.

One of the biggest events of the calendar year, Pride is one of the largest LGBTQ+ festivals in the UK, with over 75,000 participating or watching the parade on the streets of Birmingham. At the heart of the West Midlands Railway network, rail tickets can be purchased to travel to the event via the West Midlands Railway app.

Birmingham Pride is back for 2024, over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, Friday 24th, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May. Birmingham Pride is a weekend full of celebration, protest and joy!

This year, West Midlands Railway will have the company’s biggest presence at Birmingham Pride yet; bringing along props and positivity to make the event as fabulous as possible. Over 25 West Midlands Railway staff will be attending Birmingham Pride in 2024. West Midlands Trains is also a sponsor and partner of this year’s event.

Birmingham Pride Parade

The weekend kicks off on Friday 24th May with the BIG FREE COMMUNITY event, held on the Main Stage at Smithfield Live and is FREE to everyone (free ticket must be downloaded) featuring an array of LGBTQ+ artists, musicians, keynote speakers, performers from the region and also includes the annual candlelit vigil.

The annual Birmingham Pride parade leaves Centenary Square on Saturday 25th May at 12pm with over 8000 participants from the community and over 75,000 spectators watching the event as it makes its way around the streets of Birmingham. Saturday and Sunday in the heart of the gay village sees the Street Party and Smithfield Live featuring 100's of performers including headliners Loreen and Sophie Ellis Bextor performing alongside Natasha Bedingfield, Beverley Knight, Heather Small, Jamelia, Danny Beard and MANY more. Birmingham Pride also sees the return of the Cabaret marquee, Dance Arena, Fun Fair, Market Stalls, Bars and Food vendors.
