Planned train disruptions and engineering works

Network Rail will be carrying out upgrade works to the roof above platforms at Birmingham New Street for 8 months from Sunday 2 April.

How will this affect me?

A full service is expected to operate through Birmingham New Street during this time, but a series of rolling platform closures will take place whilst this work is delivered. Platforms will be closed in pairs for four weeks at a time. Some services will be retimed by up to 3 minutes as a result.

This means trains may depart from different platforms than usual, so you're advised to check your platform number on the departure boards and listen out for audio announcements at the station. Please also ensure you check your train times before you travel.

The first platform closure will affect platforms 5 and 6 from Sunday 2 April to Sunday 30 April.
