Improvement Works Taking Place this Easter

Network Rail is carrying out improvement works over the Easter weekend. If it is essential for you to travel, please allow more time for your journey and expect services to be busier than usual.

Chase line electrification works

Work is continuing to allow electric trains to run between Birmingham and Rugeley.

Electric trains are quieter, faster and will provide a more frequent service and extra seats between Rugeley and Birmingham. The next period of major work on the project takes place over the Easter weekend.

Friday 30 March – Monday 2 April

Buses will replace trains between Tame Bridge Parkway and Rugeley Trent Valley to amended timetables. Journeys will take significantly longer during this time.

London Northwestern Railway improvement works

No trains between Hemel Hempstead and London Euston on Easter Sunday

Saturday 31 March – Monday 2 April: Network Rail is carrying out essential upgrade work near Wembley over the Easter weekend. This means that a reduced service will run, with no trains between Hemel Hempstead and London Euston on Easter Sunday.

Buses replace trains between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway

Friday 30 March – Monday 2 April: buses will replace trains between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway.

Customers travelling to central Liverpool will need to use Merseyrail services between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Central / Moorfields. Both these stations are within walking distance of Liverpool Lime Street station and many city centre attractions.
