Stafford Castle

Opening dates

Tuesday, January 1, 2019 to Tuesday, December 31, 2019
Stafford Castle

Built by William the Conqueror, the castle has the best surviving Norman earthworks in Britain and the 900-year history has been gradually revealed by archaeological investigations. There's a 14th century keep (battered during the Civil War and later redesigned in a Gothic Revival style), a Visitor Centre, herb garden and trail. The Arriva 5 bus service from Stafford train station goes to the castle.
