Built in 1480 for a wealthy merchant, the timber-framed building was rescued from near oblivion and restored following the Second World War. Materials from nearby demolished cottages were used to retain features of its time period. The picturesque house has a pretty walled garden and a waitress-service tearoom selling homemade cakes.
