National Trust: The Firs Elgar's Birthplace

Edward Elgar was a quintessentially English composer and this unassuming country cottage harnesses the spirit of the man and his music. An adjacent Visitor Centre has a tea-room and exhibition space dedicated to his life. There's also a lively programme of free music events. Take the Astons 308 bus service from Crowngate Bus Station, located close to the train station, and alight at Upper Broadheath.
