Adderley Park station closed this afternoon

Adderley Park station will be closed until further notice, following an incident at the station this afternoon.

Trains between Birmingham New Street, Northampton and London Euston are also being delayed or cancelled as a result.

There are currently no trains operating to local stations between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International.

Passengers for Adderley Park are advised to use local bus services or an alternative nearby station once local train services have resumed.

London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway tickets will be accepted on:

• Virgin Trains services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston
• Chiltern Railway services between Birmingham Snow Hill and London Marylebone
• Network West Midlands and Network Express Coventry bus services

West Midlands Railway services on routes via Birmingham Snow Hill are also being delayed this afternoon due to two separate incidents on the line.These have been resolved and trains are running, but with delays and cancellations expected throughout the afternoon.

Passengers are advised to check their train times and follow @lnrailway and @westmidrailway on Twitter for the latest updates.

Any passengers delayed by 15 minutes or more by this disruption can claim compensation through Delay Repay.

The franchise is a joint venture between Abellio (70.1% share) and East Japan Railway Company / Mitsui & Co., Ltd (29.9% share in a 50:50 split). Abellio is the international passenger transport subsidiary of the Dutch national railway company, Nederlandse Spoorwegen.
